Kuithe is a stud but he’s clearly not at 100%. Cam clearly has something not at 100%. And Bernard isn’t durable enough to take 30 snaps. I’m not really sure how we can be considered a top 20 team in this situation. And without another RB so we can consistently run 35 plays, I’m not sure how we turn it around. We’ll win some games because…[Read more]

  • the RB situation is both puzzling and the #1 reason I think we’re in trouble. If we can’t rely on a stud RB to consistently take the ball 25-30 snaps a game we are not playing Utah football. And with a freshman QB we aren’t going to win it all in the air. Wilson is fine and shows promise but he’s not nearly ready to win games for us with his…[Read more]

  • Common Ute hub. It’s one game Arizona had a bye last week to prep for Wilson. Rising should (who the hell knows) be back for ASU. We play our best when our backs are against the wall. We can’t afford another loss. This is Cams last hurrah as a college QB and Ute . He comes back and sparks the team just like he did in 2021.

  • I would love to see Cam back on the field. But for the last couple games what I’d really like to have seen was Cam looking like he had some fire in his belly and that he was over amping up the team. Instead he seems to be kinda leaning back and smiling and joking. I don’t see the competitive intensity of a start QB. I can’t believe that at…[Read more]

  • We know he’s a freshman. We aren’t angry at him, we are ticked at Cam and the coaching staff.

Wilson did what he could do. No fault for a freshman this early in the season not single handedly winning the game.

A lack of depth at running back. Terrible play calling. No D showing up half of the game allowing us to be repeatedly burned.

We were out coached. We went away from the strength we showed in the OSU game. We lacked any…[Read more]

  • Did you assume we’d be 4-1 with Cam or with a FR QB?

I think if we adjusted our expectations to the latter we would be good with our current position.

The future on the other hand…coaches have to be better, we need a smart Cam Rising back, we need Reid back, some luck at RB and a fire in the belly week in/week out.

If not, plates of crow for…[Read more]

    Good post.

We’re still in the driver’s seat. Cam has to not be rusty, which I think he’ll be fine. But somebody has to step ut up behind Bernard. We are THIN there.

  • Agree, Utah passing 40 times and running 30 times with a true freshman QB is bewildering to me. But then again maybe Utah doesn’t have the depth at RB with Mitchell average 1 YPC. Sheesh.

Utah is still in the driver’s seat to win the conference. In the preseason I thought we’d be 4-1 going into bye week, and that’s where we are…I just had the loss in the wrong spot.

After sleeping after the game and taking emotion out of what we saw.

I agree with Whit, everyone in the Big 12 will lose a game. This loss isn’t like last year where our season would have been ruined because of it.

Truthfully, even with Rising, I expected us to be 4-1 at this point. I just expected that lost to be to OK ST.

    When the s…[Read more]

  • Well that was as disappointing a game as I can remember. Our coaches absolutely stunk up the joint. They need to sit in this awhile during the bye week. There’s lot of emotions and anger in the fanbase right. Some very understandable. Here’s where I’m choosing to focus: We have 7 regular season games left. I believe Cam will be back October 11th…[Read more]

If someone had told me before the season that we would be 4-1 with Cam out since the first half of the Baylor game, I would be absolutely thrilled.

I suspect the defense was physically and mentally a bit hungover from a gruelling Oklahoma State game. Even at that, they largely shut down McMillan, but couldnt get the push against the run. This…[Read more]

  • Unless Rising gets back on the field, this could be a historically bad season for Utah given the expectations before the season started. I’m just of the mind that you can’t win consistently with a true freshman QB playing extended minutes.

  • You nailed it. If Utah had converted on those first two drives, they win the game. At some point you have to give Arizona credit for stepping up and making plays in the big moments.

  • Wanting to permanently bench one of the best QBs in program history because he’s hurt (no, he’s not faking it) in favor of a true freshman who just put up 10 points on one of the worst defenses in the conference is certainly a take…

  • by a Utah quarterback with a head band. I think mommy just gave him a juice box in the tunnel before painting his 4th grade eye black on.

Arizona’s defense was never going to lose to a true freshman with that look.

1 TD and 3 INT’s is rough. He doesn’t have “it” so far.

The bottom line is Cam averages 30+ ppg and should play at 80% or better…[Read more]

  • I think that Arizona is a better opponent than most hoped. And college football will always surprise you, I think they win that game 8 times out of 10, they were the better team. But we had every reason to win and botched it. This is just the latest in an increasingly common trend of unpreparedness and collapse. Whether it be headscratching…[Read more]

Sounds like the natives are really getting restless due to this situation. Maybe I’m off the mark and affected with recency bias but the way the QB position has been handled the last two seasons could end up tarnishing both Whitt’s and Rising’s legacies.
