I know its early but Ludwig really sucked tonight. worse than any of TT’s games from what I remember. so im asking who u guys think is better. honestly im leaning towards TT.

RiseasUtesParticipant
Honestly, it doesn’t matter. They are all the same.

XanthisParticipant
Both don’t know how to run an offense from inside the 5.
-
RustyShacklefordParticipant
I agree however when the field is condensed like that and your O line is sucking Bs there isn’t many options!
-
XanthisParticipant
Yes there is. You don’t have to bunch into a false tight formation. You are allowed to run routes inside the 5. They don’t even have to be corner fades. And they work! You can also run bootleg which helps your o line out.

Ludwig. I like the rush first mentality. Utah has studs back there. Some of his plays just were poorly executed. Hate the shotgun inside the five yardline.

I thought Lud called a great game but if your oline is leaking like that, it doesn’t matter much. Players in the backfield all night.

This!
Ludwig called a dang good game considering our online got smacked around…
Losing your best player is… just plane brutal…
Huntley was a warrior.
A couple years ago at Arizona I had the thought that that game ruined our season because of all the injuries even thought it was a win.
Losing maea and umama in the BYU game was intensely brutal to our season. I’m really thinking missed reps from the niu and isu games really really hurt our online tonight. Bad injury luck.

Dante GuardiParticipant
how? he called a horrible game. how are u gonna go under center for a good amount of the plays and run shotgun inside the 5? that was horrible. also with 4 minutes left and us being down by 10 on 2nd and 15 we run the ball up the gut, that was PATHETIC
-
Ute2Participant
To reel off 450 yards when your best player goes down and your online is a sieve is pretty dang good.
What happens to usc if they lose Pittman?

Ludwig is better. It would have been damn near impossible to call a good offensive games when the entire OL chose not to show up….

The O-line just isn’t that great. I think Ludwig got great production from our running corps. I would have liked to see more passing…then again I also saw more of our passes go wild or get tipped than ever before so maybe that wouldn’t have worked. I wanted a lot more run to the edges…but would that have just let them adjust to the edges and leave us with a different issue?
We are a team with a lot of talent. But we aren’t USC with 3 deep QBs and a literal damn superman at WR. We shut down their run but it came at a cost. We stayed in the game till the end despite the most horrible holding/penalty filled bs night I can ever remember. We fumbled the ball. Ludgwig may not have called the play I wanted but he didn’t fumble the ball.
Ludgwig is not a top 3 OC but he’s better than anyone we’ve had in years and he tries to use the players we have in ways they can be used unlike Taylor. I’m fine with keeping Ludwig and I’m going to remind myself that this should never have been considered a gimme game…playing USC at USC is something no team should feel confident about. And they will be tough next year too. And I hate them.

Did you miss WSU from last year. Or Washington?

RUUTESParticipant
We will eventually beat USC at USC. Moss going down may have gotten in our heads last night. We were getting it done on Offense that first quarter. Then stalled when people saw Moss go off the field. I think we may be better than we currently feel…but not nearly as good as this last week’s hype was.
Ludwig is better than Taylor for our team and trajectory. Taylor may end up being a great OC in a system that allows him to develop t over several years. But Andy is the better fit for Utah and our chance of recovering from the OC carousel.

I acutally really liked the play calling for the first 2/3 or so of the game. But after that with no Moss and the o line getting blown up that all went to hell. Not sure the greatest calls in the world would have overcome the o line issues and penalties.
