Has there been any news about this? I feel like typically I see something about the University selling its allotment, or how many tix are left, etc from the Ticket Office.
I haven’t heard this, nor have a heard a lot of buzz from word of mouth. My gut tells me we’ll still have a decent showing. And Oregon should have a good crowd as they haven’t played in this game/for the Rose Bowl in 4-5 years.
Hoping it’s enough for a good crowd.
GO UTES.

If you’re looking at stadium capacity, it probably won’t be very full. This game typically isn’t. The bay area is a horrible place for this game. It’s expensive and the weather sucks. There’s a reason most bowl games are played in the southern portion of the US. Once the CCG moves to Vegas, I expect it to be better attended. It has better weather and you can do more there with less money.

I keep hearing folks say “when” the CCG moves to Vegas. But I hadn’t read anywhere yet that the game will be moving there. It would certainly make a lot of sense to move it there, but are we “speculating” that the league will move to do something that “makes sense”, or had there already been an announcement that this will be the case going forward.
And if there HAD been an official announcement moving the game to Vegas, when do we expect this will happen? 2020?

It was announced after the Raiders decided to move to Vegas that the CCG will be moved there starting in 2020.

It is a tough game for fans to attend. Not to mention the weather and time of year. I imagine attendance will go way up when it moves to Vegas.
I highly doubt either team will sell out of its allotment (unless the allotment is artificially low to make the schools feel good about themselves).

Pretty much what Stone and Central Coast Ute said. Everything about the location of this game sucks. The time also sucks, 5pm on a Friday with some of the worst traffic imaginable. Levi’s Stadium itself is pretty nice, but other than that, everything is crap. Surprised they haven’t moved it to University of Phoenix Stadium or something sooner. Glad it will be going to Vegas.

If UO hadnt lost we might have filled it. If Utah wasnt squarely in the CFP conversation we might have filled it ourselves. The prospect of a semifinal and possible final in our future has several people saving their money, I can say that for sure. Especially with how expensive it is to get to, and stay in, that god forsaken hellhole that is the bay area. It just doesnt make sense even if the rose bowl being the prize. I made the choice to save for the Rose bowl/semi or go to this CCG and ultimately it was an easy one (although painful)

Hell hole? Come on. I’ve lived in the Bay Area for over 30-years and certainly understand its weaknesses but a Hell Hole? Housing prices and unemployment numbers don’t support that statement. Me and my family will be there.

Housing prices and homelessness do support that assessment. Any city that needs a poop patrol is a hell hole.

Not every city in the Bay Area is San Francisco. Lots of nicer places. I love SLC but lets not pretend it doesn’t have a homeless problem too.
