I can think of a few times when kickers made the difference.  The Colorado loss that cost Utah a trip to the first ever PAC12 game…Can’t even think of that kicker who missed all of those FGs.  I remember sitting in NEZ and wanting to eat my hat when he missed like three FGs.

But Hackett I think has been a difference maker in a lot of wins Utah had last year.  Some of his runs and ability to flip the field was huge for that anemic offense.

What say you without Hackett does Utah win that many games last two seasons without the Ray Guy winner?

Coleman Petersen was the kicker in the Colorado loss… just FYI. The missed kicks in that game were painful.

I bet in each of the last 2 seasons 2-3 wins could have been losses without Hackett.

That game at Stanford in 2014, if not for Hackett, we never make it to OT. He continually flipped the field and kept Stanford on its heels. Of course, the Utah offense didn’t do much, but they came through in OT when it mattered.

the worse your offense is the more important your punter is, so hopefully our offense can absorb the loss of Ray Guy 2.0
