      is there a way to set preferences so that posts are displayed most recent at the top and oldest at the bottom, rather than the other way around.

      If you want to go to the bottom of the thread from the “Latest Post” page just click on the “xxx minutes ago” and it’ll take you to the bottom (most recent). That’s very handy.
