SALT LAKE CITY – Following the postponement of the 2020 Tokyo Summer Olympic Games, Utah gymnast MyKayla Skinner has opted to continue her pursuit of a berth on Team USA and plans on deferring her senior year of competition as a Red Rock once again.
Skinner, who has a final year of NCAA eligibility left, originally deferred last season to make a return to the elite stage and devote her time to training. With the COVID-19 outbreak causing the Tokyo Olympics to be pushed to 2021, Skinner will remain at her home gym in Arizona, Desert Lights Gymnastics, to continue training, work on upgrades and prepare competition-ready routines.
