That’s largely because Wilson set the world on fire in 2020 after a disappointing 2019 campaign.
Just compare the schedules.

I swear I didn’t read that before I posted. All makes sense to me though…

Set the world on fire? against mediocre competition!, He would look average at best against middle of the pack P5s.
his gonna get a wake up call in the NFL.

“[Wilson] is fun to watch, but is he a 1-year flash in the pan? He’s a backyard baller who is fun to watch.”
It seems NFL scouts are agreeing with me. I was even called stupid on this board for saying so. 1 year flash in the pan, is exactly what he is.

I remember when people had him ranked higher than Huntley. It was ridiculous.

He is an attention whore like his mom

I don’t personally like Wilson either, but MOMs should be off limits. IMHO.

My response…
I agree. It’s bad form imo.

Not HIS mom! She’s an even bigger showboat than Zach. I really don’t even have a problem with Zach, other than the fact that he isn’t really that great of a QB, but rather a QB playing against weak SOS teams who don’t play Defense. But where it comes to running off at the mouth? That’s not Zach. That’s his mom! She brings it on herself.

It is, unless some BYU-Provo Campus coach arbitrarily decided that you’ll convert more people by playing football for the Provo Campus. Which, of course, is a total red herring because for every person who joins the Church because of Provo Campus football, probably a dozen are driven away because of their antics.
-
HoosierUteParticipant
not that it matters but i was under the impression that he isnt even lds. thought i saw an interview somewhere where he said his parents were technically mormon but they never went to church.

Nearly everything you said in this post is wrong. You can definitely be inactive or non-LDS and go to BYU-Provo Campus. You don’t even have to be an athlete. You can be atheist or agnostic as well, as long as you have an ecclesiastical endorsement (though why one would want to is another question).
Zach Wilson is not being treated specially with respect to his religion, or lack thereof. Where athletes like Wilson do get treated specially is with respect to his grades as they relate to admission standards, but that’s normal for most universities.

GameForAnyFussParticipant
Sigh…I don’t know why I’m even arguing with you about this. I attended there for a year. I’ve seen plenty of ecclesiastical endorsements.
Plenty of atheists have gotten one.

Sorry, Mr. Poo Towel…I’m done here. I pride myself on my ability to not take bait.

I knew several that went to the Y and never attended church before or while there. I think the endorsements are handed out with the hope that attending will be good for inactive kids. There are kids of every kind down there, most attend church but some are literally ramroded in by parents or some other sponsor. Then again, what is the point of punking the system there.
