I too am disappointed in the team and HC this year, however, I can see some reasons behind this that are not necessarily the coach’s or the team’s fault.
No 1. Booth Gach.
No 2. Caleb Lohner.
Gach was one of the best players, behind only TA. I don’t know what his reasoning was, perhaps one of you has a neighbor who knows one of the ball boys can enlighten me. His transfer was a big hit.
Lohner was another, perhaps, even bigger hit. He’s a big body and a very talented player. His decision, after signing , and at the last minute, took , maybe two of the top expected players on the team this year. How do you recover from those losses.
I think, especially against UCLA, the team and coach are doing better than I expected.
Those of you who are calling for LK’s firing should now, deserved or not, it isn’t happening any time soon, especially after the loss of revenue from football this year.

How many transfers out under LK? Lots? Why?

Gach wasn’t exactly lighting it up last year.
I don’t know what was going on but he was a non factor in several games last year. -

How is Gach not on Larry?

Aside from not being able to retain talent, Larry doesn’t develop talent either. Best example is Kyle Kuzma. You can’t tell me that Larry developed or got the most out of him. But once Kuz leaves the program as a junior he explodes in the NBA and is in the running for Rookie of the Year?! Larry arguably had one of the most talented Utah teams Kuz’s Junior season and he was lucky to finish 4th in the conference. Sorry, Larry might be able to bring talent in the door but that’s it. He can’t develop, coach, or retain talent. We can all celebrate the day he’s finally gone.
