In the first half, we looked like we did in the first three games and played like a team that is not even a top 75 team.

      – We committed two turnovers, we could not run effectively, we missed open receivers.

      – On defense – we missed tackles, there was little to no pressure on Daniels, receivers were open.

In the second half, we played like a top-ten team and looked much like our 2019 team.

      – 4 possessions and four TDs.  We ran effectively and Rising was spot on with his passes.  Converted on third downs.  Best offense I have seen since Oregon in 2015.

      – The defense did not allow ASU in the red-zone.  We put pressure on Daniels and allowed less than 100 total yards.

So, who are we?  Are we just young and finally figuring things out?

This is one of my favorite Ute teams of all time. A ton of credit goes to them for that amazing turn around.

BUT..damn ASU is awful. I was not impressed. I didn’t think highly of them to start the season and even less now. Their penalties are just killer. Again credit Utah for being the team like Poo poo to capitalize on their missteps but damn Scum devils are a bad team. The refs could have easily called holding every down.

After that failed 50 some yard fg the absolute dunce look on Herm Edwards face said it all. After that it was over.

The final possession reminded me of some feeble attempt from an FCS school down by 50 points. They were down two scores and Daniels was just like screw it. Then another hold brought him back.   There was zero effort. Then the three sacks to end it were so bad. Lloyd getting held the whole way I felt as well.

Utah was outstanding and really took advantage of ASU mistakes. Nice to be in the driver seat though. Utah controls its destiny and I like them in every game. Even Oregon.

Lame to take away what Utah did by continually saying ASU is awful. Maybe give some credit to the team?

ASU is NOT a bad team. Not sure how you’re coming to that conclusion.

Asu had 13 penalties for 115 yards. They pretty much average that in games as well.

If we are a range of 1st half and 2nd half utah from that game for the rest of the season, we are going to be really good this year. That whole game performance was more than good enough to win every game left on our schedule.

The evidence would suggest that “who we are” is something between what we saw in the first half and what we saw in the second half. What’s that old sports adage? You’re never as good as your best win and you’re never as bad as your worst loss.
