If we’re going there, I would say the Jazz are the BYU-Provo Campus of the NBA.

I agree as a jazz fan, we are the BYU-P of the league.

Never seen another fanbase embrace the victim role quite like us in the NBA

Unfortunately this massive inferiority complex is part of the state of Utah’s culture. I see it in our fanbase as well, though not to the same extent. It’s the most annoying part of Utah culture IMO.

Are the responses in this thread asserting that Utah’s culture has an inferiorirty complex indications of an inferiority complex? Where does the cycle end?

Utah is awesome. Some of the best people I know come from there. Alphas.

Ha. I get it. If the topic doesn’t interest you, it sounds like Charlie Brown’s school teachers.

Yes, and that’s actually what my original response was addressing. The Jazz seem to have a bias toward whiteness too.

BYU has a lot of good European players?

      • #165036

Ha. A lot of tall players of Scandinavian descent were on the roster when I last paid attention to them. Missionary work in Scandinavia in the 1830s and 40s and a youth proselytizing effort via basketball starting circa 1980 created a perfect storm.

This article says the Mavericks have a lot of European players while the rest of the league has American players. European decent doesn’t mean European. I don’t see any Europeans on tds’s roster. Utah has had some luck with a couple of European players such as Motolla and Poeltl however.

Author has not had his DEI training, the payroll should have the same makeup as the general population, so the NBA’s rosters have way too many black players and not enough diversity, so why whine about the one team that is closer to the norm, aside from having no Asian or Pacific Islanders??  😉
