#71 Braeden Daniels, Junior OL, 6-4, 299
Braeden is expected to fill the leadership and blocking void left with the departure of Nick Ford to the Jacksonville Jaguars. He is moving over to Left Tackle and will be key to protecting Cam Rising in the backfield as well as helping Coach Harding bring up the younger OL players. Coach Whitt has full confidence in his ability to play all five OL positions. Daniels was All-Pac 12 (2nd team) in 2021, winning Pac-12 Lineman of the Week for his work in the Stanford game. He is projected to All Pac-12 (1st Team) in 2022 by Phil Steele and Athlon Sports. Steele also projects Daniels as 4th Team All-American. Due to the extra COVID year, Daniels is listed as a Junior but he’s been at Utah since 2018, coming from Hebron HS in Carrolton, TX (Dallas metro). I believe he’s graduating this summer, if not this spring, with a degree in Business Administration.
