      Or he slipped up…

B1G’s Kevin Warren: “We will be in 4 time zones in 2024. We’ll be able to provide content, all the way from the morning into the night”

      (from Twitter)

It’s either 1) he slipped up (I don’t think so), 2) Considers Nebraska as in the Mountain Time Zone because the western part of the state is (even if no one lives there) or 3) they are considering adding one or more of Utah, Colorado, ASU, or UA.

Yeah. If the B1G has plans for ‘night’ content, I don’t think USC would be too pleased having all their home games starting at 7:30pm PT; they will need more teams for content.

Not sure if all this is good thing for Utah or not… but it is a thing.

Exactly, if the B1G is serious about wall to wall, all day coverage of CFB. They’ll need to add probably 4 more western teams. Otherwise every UCLA and USC home game will be at 7:30pm.

1030pm ET games alienate the ET and CT opponents fan base. Ohio St, Michigan, Wisconsin, Iowa, Penn St, vs USC or UCLA will never start at 1030pm ET. And if USC/UCLA night games are only vs teams like Rutgers, they’ll never dominate that time slot. Fox needs more West Coast teams to fill those 14 weeks…

The total population of Nebraska in the mountain time zone is 106k (2010 Census), so about 6% of the state population

Most likely he is focused on having teams from both coasts and assumes that covers everything in the middle. Still, the comment speaks to the value of even the late time zone.

Interesting that he would bring it up when the value of night games is central to the discussions on the value of the PAC going on right now.

Still, I think this is just him expressing a marketing exaggeration – technically it is true that part of Nebraska fits into the mountain time zone, but it really is irrelevant. But it sounds nice to people who don’t think about it – it’s a marketing ploy.
