#30 Nick Howe, RS Freshman CB, 5-10 176

Nick is a local from Woods Cross HS, where he led the state with 10 interceptions in his senior season, 2017; he was named to Deseret News All-State team, and Salt Lake Trib All 4A/5A/6A and Region 5 Defensive MVP.  He served a two year mission in Chicago, then joined the Utes last year.   He did not see action in 2021.  Morgan Scalley’s nephew will have to work hard to see game action in 2022 with many of the Utes 2021 CBs coming back.

      Interesting story about this athlete…

Last year mid season it was apparent the DB’s were thin due to injuries and not wanting to put any more potential scholarship players at risk on the defensive practice squad Nick was called up because of his athletisim and accomplishments in HS at Woodscross.  This kid changed a bunch of his school schedule midstream at the U and busted his tail on the D practice squad the rest of the year helping out.  He never dressed for a game last year but continues to condition and train with the team making himself and everyone around him better coming into fall camp.  I love the dedication and heart of this kid and others like him and hope he gets an opportunity to dress and mabye even see the field at some point.  #hometown team player

Thanks for the additional info on Nick, hope his hard work pays off with some playing time, and a scholly, if he doesn’t already, at some point.
