Family and I absolutely love it here. First night of tornado watches though and I have no idea what to think. I’ve never been in this situation before.

Most houses in the SE don’t have basements. Water table too high.

No basements. Sirens just went off and woke us up and we are in the middle of the home away from windows. A little surreal. Tornado touched down a few miles south of us…I still just want the Utes to win though 😂

Don’t live in Arkansas, but close enough we go there from time-to-time for recreation.  You can get an underground shelter in your garage.  I also use mine to do car repairs where I can reach the undercarriage from the steps (oil changes and such).   Not 100% sure if they sell/install this brand in Arkansas, but FlatSafe makes a nice underground shelter that is large and made of fiberglass like a boat hull.

Otherwise, if you’re in a tornado warning go to a small room in the middle of your house on the 1st floor, closet or interior bathroom work best.  If you’re in a tornado watch just make sure you have a plan for sheltering, bring cars into garage to protect from hail, secure stuff on your deck/patio, have batteries/flashlights at the ready in case power goes out, etc.

Moat people don’t die in tornadoes. Hope that helps.
