I always enjoy looking at this data. I think this explained some of my frustration with the game. It always felt like we should be winning but we weren’t.

We had a reverse net success rate. Our overall success rate was higher than Oregon’s but we lost.He calls these lucky wins. In our case an unlucky loss.

If you look at teams that had similar success rate differences this week it was Texas A&M over U Mass 20-3 and UTSA over Rice 42-7.

That game was morale beat down. Lost to a peg legged QB who probably could have kicked a field goal better than our kicker.

      Funny what turnovers can do.

I see where the person is calling Oregon Lucky. I don’t necessarily think that means Utah was unlucky.
I think everyone kind of accepted defeat once Clark got tackled after his pick.
Most of us in Chat were relieved Reid scooped and scored. If he had fallen on it I doubt Utah even scores then.
If I had to rank worst losses of the P12 era…that one takes the cake. Next to that was Colorado 2012. Then Wilson in coliseum throwing to one USC linebacker over and over.

Yeah, I see your point. It’s just the guy uses the term lucky wins and I reversed to describe it because we didn’t win and you’re right it probably isn’t accurate.

What was just such the gut punch was the number of plays the team usually makes and they didn’t. There were multiple opportunities to make one play typically completed by the team that failed and completing just one of these multiple options could have won the game.

I agree this is probably one of,  if not the most, painful losses in the PAC 12 era. Losses when we were outmatched and outplayed are much easier to accept than what happened here.

One more came to my mind. I think it was Washington at home two years ago? I sat with my wife in the RES visitor section. Dawg house? Most annoying game ever and the outcome sucked.
