For those who went last year when was the best time to buy tickets? Should I try to soon or wait until it gets closer

Last year bought through Crimson Club and got row 15. Great seats. Level 6. By level 4 most good seats were gone.

Just got mine on Ticketmaster during the trophy presentation. $190 each after fees for row 34. Looks like they’ve jumped back up quite a bit now

I bought my tickets through TickPick the night they beat Oregon. The earlier you buy tickets, the better deal I think you’ll get, especially now that the B1G team is still up in the air. If Penn State ends up with the B1G bid, which is likely, you’ll see a massive rush for tickets from their fan base. So, to summarize, if you’re going and have the resources available, I would recommend you buy tonight.

They got cheaper closer to the game.

I didn’t go last year, but spent a while searching out what happened to others last year and this is what I found:

If you want guaranteed seats, the cheapest tickets are going to be immediately after the game ends. I bought mine last night for $165 a piece within minutes of the game ending. However, those Ticketmaster seats go really quickly and prices will initially jump quite a bit (which as of this morning they already have). The U of U will also have a lot of tickets to sell, but it’s not as clear to me the typical price range on those and how hard / easy they are to get, although Crimson Club members have best access.

While the game will be a sell out, as it gets close to the game, it sounds like it’s pretty typical that there will be a number of people off loading tickets, and the closer to the game you buy the cheaper the tickets can get (which it seemed like happened last year for Utah vs Ohio State). Some years it sounds like people can score real bargains close to the game. But that’s not guaranteed either if demand outstrips supply.

That’s spot on…you can possibly score good discounts on lower-tier tickets, and I emphasize lower-tier, if you’re willing to wait and roll the dice. I saw that on the Ute Facebook groups, essentially where fans bought too many tickets from the Crimson Club and were just trying to recoup their investment. In my case last year, I wanted to be absolutely sure, because this was a once-in-a-lifetime experience for my family and me, that we had great seats well before the game. If that’s what you want, you’ll have to pay a premium.
