1️⃣ We only skied one women’s run (conditions). No second run, no men’s GS at all.
2️⃣ Wednesday’s races are also cancelled.
3️⃣ We’re figuring out how this all affects team scoring for the Montana State Invitational. Don’t know yet, but will share when we do.

BOZEMAN, Mont. – Utah’s Kaja Norbye won the first women’s giant slalom run at the Montana State Invitational, but the second run as well as the men’s giant slalom was cancelled due to conditions on Tuesday at Bridger Bowl Ski Area. Wednesday’s giant slalom races have also been cancelled.

Under RMISA rules, the one women’s run from Tuesday counts as an official college race and thus an individual win for Norbye, as well as for NCAA qualification purposes.

However, without a men’s race taking place, it’s unclear (and currently being sorted out) what Tuesday’s abbreviated day of competition means for overall team scoring in the Montana State Invitational. The Utes led the Montana State Invitational following the Nordic races on January 13-14.

Updates on team scoring for the meet will be shared once officially announced by the RMISA.

Due to inclement weather and snow conditions, the MSU Invitational giant slalom races scheduled for Wednesday, Feb. 1 have been canceled. With the most recent weather hitting the Gallatin Valley and surrounding mountains, bad snow conditions halted the MSU Invite after the women’s giant slalom races on Tuesday afternoon. The RMISA is looking at possibly making up the races next week in Colorado.
