Just for everyone that keeps saying he isn’t on scholarship or asks if he is. Yes, he was a preferred walk-in (not on scholarship) to start. But he was awarded a scholarship after they saw value.
Anyone judging him by last years Rose bowl, that’s….. questionable at best…
He was tossed on there Kincaid-less, Kuithe-less without the prep against one of the best defenses in college football.
I get he isn’t rising. But we’ve seen he can play. I like Barnes with all the prep focused on him.
You seem to know what you are talking about, so I assume you are right. However, a Dnews article just last week said that he still wasn’t on a scholarship. (Seemed odd to me.) Their info may have been outdated and wrong.
For Barnes, it’s his collegiate start. He was a walk-on in 2020 before earning a scholarship. He played in three games in 2021 and four contests in 2022.
It’s still fine to call him ‘walk-on Bryson Barnes’ as that’s where he started. He wasn’t ranked in the 2020 recruiting class and had 2 offers: SUU and Western Illinois. Looks like his choice paid off.
