It is a rivalry, just not a competitive one haha. Last week definitely was more of what CU considers a rivalry game (Nebraska). CU-CSU is more like Utah-Utah St. Years of CU being Big 12 vs. CSU WAC/MWC does this to the competitiveness as well. They have played a lot in Denver but just recently started playing at the schools again (CSU has a new on-campus stadium they want to use).
I definitely agree that it’s funny Gameday picked this week, but there really isn’t any other good game and might as well hype the Prime train. Next week there is FSU/Clem (but Clemson’s loss deflated the ‘this is for the ACC’), CU @ Ore (they would rather go to Boulder), Ohio St @ ND, even Iowa @ Penn St. UCLA @ Utah, Ore St @ Wazzu, and Ole Miss @ Alabama are three other ranked v ranked in Week 4.
BTW, Fox Big Noon Kickoff was at TCU vs CU Week 1, Neb @ CU Week 2, and decided to come back to Boulder Week 3 (were going to Penn St/Ill). 2 shows in Boulder this week.
