      Jesus, Joseph, and Mary…what are these guys doing in practice? Pretty soon here, during games the Utes are going to ask for volunteers from the stands to suit up.

        Idk where his head was at. You see that one rush where Curry let up his speed to be tackled? I feel like when you do that you are more likely to be injured.

        Sad thing though. I liked Curry a lot. The freak injury last year was so s**tty.

          Eagle, I certainly remember that play. We talked about it in the group chat. Seemed like he was afraid to get hit and completely slowed down just before the tackle. Now you wonder if whatever took him out for the season was manifesting itself during that play.

      I say we go 100% air raid offense for the rest of the year, incompletions and interceptions be damned. At least it’ll be entertaining!

      Seriously though, I’ve never seen a season of injuries like this. This is insane.

      I think we truly have Glover (all 5’8″ of him), a banged up Jackson, and … ? We’ve got to get Randle some reps or teach these freshman how to pick up blocks, right?

        I really thought Glover would have a break out year if only given the opportunity. I’m amazed at how easily he goes down.

          I agree. With how low he is to the ground, I thought for sure he’d get stronger in the offseason, run through those arm tackles and be a really, really good RB. But he still just goes down.

          Don’t skip leg day peeps.

            Have you seen his legs? They are giant. Whatever is causing him to go down that fast isn’t leg strength

          What I think was telling with Glover was the run he had against OSU where he got to the next level, which hasn’t been easy for him, and instead of running to the next seam/daylight, he danced. Worked in HS, won’t work at this level. Good guy, team guy, hope he can make the step up.

        I think Glover would be posting more numbers if our O line was a bit stronger, that seems to be the issue more so than him individually. there’s a lot of collapse on plays which prohibits the backs and QB in all aspects.

      It’s really too bad. We’ve been pulling for Chris Curry evidenced by the ovation he got in the Weber St game. There are a lot of careers cut short in this game. I love the game, but it is violence and carnage.

      May need to go to the freshmen. John Randle would give us some playmaking that we don’t have in the backfield right now, but playcalling would need to create opportunities. Running into a stacked box doesn’t exactly create opportunities.

        It is violence and carnage. I saw a Terry Crews interview where he said that the majority of guys he played with in the NFL, at that point didn’t even really like football but were just doing it for the money. Just hard to imagine how some of these guys are still doing it in their 30s+.

          Star Lotulelei said he hates football. His passion was rugby but he said he could make more playing football so he went with it.

            Football isn’t the only sport. I’ve read about a bunch of guys in the NBA that also aren’t enamored with basketball as a career but you can’t beat the money. When you think about the regimented lifestyle and all of the travel that takes place in sports like basketball, hockey, and baseball, you can see why a lot of professionals aren’t in love with their respective sports.

              I always thought pro sports would be the best job ever, and then I read Andre Agassi’s book. He hated tennis but had ridiculous natural ability and it was all he knew from an early age. The lifestyle of a pro tennis player, apart from the money, sounds awful. You’re never home, never consistently around anyone other than your training staff and other tennis players, and if you’re ever doing anything other than playing a match or prepping for a match, it’s probably either media related or sitting in an airport. 24/7, 365.

              Here in Denver, Jokic’s responses absolutely crack me up. Basketball (even as an MVP and champion) seems like a side gig he feels obligated to do. He said this was a terrible summer because he had to play 2.5 more months! And he was bummed there was a parade because he wanted to go home. He’d rather race horses.

      I think we need the theme from Mash to run out on to field against Cal with a white flag. A special year derailed by injuries. These players and coaches have worked hard to get ready for a big year. They deserve better.
