  The plan was to let them do that. They knew that team could nail the 3 so they took that away from them. Or so I’ve heard.

  They had coach Slocum on ESPN700 and he said that they didn’t defend the pick and roll with backside defenders because they wanted to protect the 3 point shot. UVU played the game with 4 outside shooters and a big. They gambled on making the big beat them and they almost lost that bet.
