Riley interviewed him yesterday.
Summary of the interview:
His senior season meant a lot to him because they were able to beat Skyridge which beat them in the championship last year.
His focus this season was to cut down on turnovers and reading through his progressions. His coach helped him improve in these areas. He learned to take the check down instead of always going for the big play.
Why is he going to Utah? He was blessed to have a lot of schools try to recruit him. He likes Ludwig and Whitt. They always have a great Oline. He said Ludwig really gets him. Coach Whitt was his dad’s coach at Utah.
Zach told him that Utah is a good fit for him.
It was a relief to make a commitment before his senior season started. He could focus on playing football.
The two other Corner Canyon commitments to Utah are two of his best friends.
He feels he had more preparation than the average HS QB because of his coach, Zach, and his dad.
It will be great to learn from Cam Rising. He never gives up. He loves what Cam does. He has had some conversations with Cam. (Cam said in an earlier interview that he looks forward to mentoring Isaac.)
He can’t wait to play in RES as a Ute. He has played in RES in HS, but he wants to play in front of a full house.
He will be enrolling in school in January. He won’t be able to play at full strength in Spring ball because of knee surgery. But, he will be there at practice, soaking in everything he can from the coaches and Cam Rising.
Isaac Wilson played for the best coach in Utah HS football, coach Kjar. His last three QBs are 1-in the NFL, 2-Starting at Mississippi, 3-At Ohio State. I have to believe Isaac is well prepared to move to the big-time.
