      Here are how my grades play out: 

      A+: Any 11+ win season

      A range: 9-10 win season

      B range: Any 8 win season

      C range: Any 6-7 win season

      D: no bowl game

       

      Now, I know that by my rankings, Utah should have an A grade, but the way they finished the season drops them down to a B+. 

      I think one thing we need to do as fans is re-adjust our expectations. This isn’t the MWC where the best two teams we play every year are TCU and BYU. Washington, USC, Colorado and possibly Oregon would beat either of those two teams. 

      Yeah, the last month of the season sucked. Yeah, losing to Oregon was embarrassing. Yeah, we need HUGE problems fixed on offense. BUT, even with all those issues, we won 9 games. Oregon’s defense sucked and they won 4 games. Most teams that have the HUGE issues we have don’t go bowling. We won 9 games and will end up ranked. 

      I love this team, I love Whitt. We are better this year than we were last year, and that is great news. If Bolles and Lotulelei and Williams come back, we will be better next year than this year. 

      We are trending in the right direction, which is incredible for coming into a P5 conference as an G5 school. The speed in how we’ve built this program is staggering. 

      Hats off to the SR’s, what a great game, what a great way to go out. 

      Congrats to Andy and how he finished. How fitting. 

      Congrats to Asiata. He and Joe were the MVP’s last night. 

      Pita T and Dimick went out with a bang. Same with Tasini. 

      Our SR’s were incredible last night.

      That was Joe’s best performance of his career, better than his 332 yard game. In that game, the o-line was blowing massive holes open, and Joe was running largely untouched all night. Yesterday, he was breaking multiple tackles nearly every time he touched the ball. It was a gutsy performance, especially in the fourth quarter when you could tell he was gassed. Definitely raised his stock.

        It was. What a game for Joe to go out on. Also, I’ll never forget watching Asiata laying blocks 30 yards down field on a couple of run plays. What a pair of great Utes.

      Your grade is generous I am thinking B- because dammit Utah you could have been better!

        I’m ok with your grade. I think our expectations are still too high. We will always be Utah and our recruiting will always be tough. 

        The PAC-12 is the second best conference in the country and nine wins and ranked is ALWAYS a good season in my eyes. 

        BUT, I did downgrade them from an “A” to a B+ so I’m ok with your downgrade.
