Just watching Cleveland and Orlando, it seems the about half Cleveland’s team is x Jazz players. What did the Jazz get out of this?

Draft picks and getting rid of onerous contracts.

Mitchell said good things about Salt Lake City and Utah until he got his first big contract with Utah. After that, he never said a kind word about the city or state. So he can go to Cleveland, he wasn’t EVER going to resign with Utah, in my opinion. Trading him for value before his contract was up was the only move.

Lauri Markkanen, Ochai Agbaji, Collin Sexton, three first-round picks, and two pick swaps, is value greater than zero. Zero is the value the Jazz got from Gordon Hayward who didn’t resign, that in hindsight they should have traded.

Karma got Hayward. He was really never the same player after he left the Jazz. Constant injuries, inconsistent performances, you have to wonder if he would do it differently if he had the chance.

It is bad luck. Hayward was injured freakishly his first season with the Celtics.

Seeing a guy you liked get hurt isn’t Karma though. It is just wishful thinking from a spiteful fan base.
