How did I miss the Zach Keller transfer announcement?
He graduated with my daughter two years ago. He has great upside. He led his team to the Colorado State Championship two years ago. That same team failed to win the State Championship this year falling in the final, with a player committed to CU.
In high school I don’t think Zach was really tested. He often seemed to be more of a team player allowing others especially role players to take center stage. But make no mistake when he turned it on he was really good. Great outside shooting skills, and when he wanted to was scrappy and energetic. He played club basketball with a team out of Salt Lake. I think it really came down to Utah and a couple other schools before he chose Wake Forest.
His freshman year he was okay, and from what I saw had a decent sophomore season. He played against Utah early last year in a tournament. He seems to fit in a similar mold as Madsen, and I hope he pans out. I can’t speak on his growth since high school but seems like a good get. At the very least I think he’ll be a good team player. Just not sure he will star for our Utes.
