I’m totally in favor. It was awesome to go to the events last time like the opening and closing ceremonies, jump events, luge/bobsled… and the downtown area was awesome.
I volunteered as a course slipper at Snowbasin in 2002 and it was one of the most memorable experiences of my life. I’ll definitely be volunteering again.
That’s basically it, yeah. Having a racing background helped me get the job (understanding where to push the snow so it’s not near the race line and doesn’t create a safety hazard is important), but that’s about it.
You really just have to have the skill set to snowplow and sideslip down pretty steep, water-injected pitches, and the quad strength to do it for 2 miles. Based on the videos I’ve seen of you skiing, you could do it no problem.
