      I’m an old guy and I don’t get excited about a lot anymore. But I have been looking forward to this season since the middle of last season. On paper, we have seemed to fill in most of our holes. Now, it’s time to deliver.

      Should be a fun year. It will be nice to see things play out on the field instead of all the talk and hype. After game 4 we should know more about this team.

      Cam running onto the field for the first time in nearly 2 years with Bad Moon Rising playing the background will be nothing but cathartic to us fans after the offensive woes of last season.

      I’m stoked! Although I know I’d be more excited if…

      (1) We’d stop scheduling weak SOS FCS games. Or at least follow the SEC’s model of playing them in November, to serve as a virtual bye week, to help give our banged up 2-deep a break.

      (2) We’d schedule a Wk-0 game….to move up the start of the season, and have that “experience” advantage over our next opponent, as it’s long been stated that the most improvement a team experiences in the season, is the step up from the 1st to the 2nd game.
