Whit said we need to be averaging 5 yds per carry. Everyone who had a carry averaged more than 5 yds except Mitchell. Seems like the run game is fine. It’s just not dominant like we are used to. What am I missing?

That. We have been spoiled (and whined about it the whole time) White, Booker, Moss, Jordan, Good Tavion, Jackson. We don’t have that guy this season. It doesn’t help that JaQuinden is averaging 150 and 3 tugs per game at Arkansas.

3 tugs? No wonder he transferred

At the very least, our running plays lack any amount of creativity and diversity. It’s all the same old run between the tackles BS.

Not sure I agree. That’s what it is with Bernard, but not with Stanley.

Wasn’t it Money that ran the sweep for a TD?

Difference is size. We don’t have that big bruiser that can get an extra couple of yards. Mitchell doesn’t seem to have size. We have speed and when Rising is on the field that speed becomes more of a factor.

Bottom line is with Rising speed is more important. Wilson on the field we need power running game. The offense is built for Rising let’s hope he can get back soon.

I believe we were averaging over 5 yards in the first half. When they completely shut down the passing game in the second half and Baylor was able to stack the box, the running game started to suffer.

Big bruiser backs are overrated by Utah fans. We seem to be willing to trade versatility for 3 yard situational runs all while tipping off defenses.

Bernard’s 120 yds and 6.2 yds per carry against stacked boxes yesterday is very good. Focus on the productivity, that’s what matters.

Bernard on the field also doesn’t have to tip off defenses, but you know Whitt ball when it happens.
