I think the defense pitches a shut out with Rising.

Without yeah probably give up some field goals or potentially a pick six for Wilson.

I think 24 points with Wilson against a decent Utah State team away is mighty charitable. Personally, I only think it happens if the defense chips in with one or two defensive scores. As it stands right now, you can expect the Aggies to regularly stack the box with eight defenders and force Wilson to win the game.

      13-10 Utah under Wilson.

Hopefully with a week of reps with the offense, and a set of plays he’s comfortable executing, he’ll do a bit better.

      23-10 and a snorer

The difference between USU Barnes vs USC and UofU Barnes vs USC is simply Utah. Utah will have a comfortable win either way. For this game I think either QB will get it done without drama. Rising’s finger should be ready to go but they will plan some rest for it. Wilson will be better prepared with increased practice reps in his world.

Goes against every fiber of his being, but don’t shut down Isaac and the offense.

Go up tempo where Isaac is playing more on instinct and thinking less. Get him some easier throws early, work in more motion, build his confidence. Show him some trust instead of the opposite, like emphasizing no turnovers ad nauseum.

If you can’t give some leash to your QB2 against Utah St then when?

Tired of ultra conservative offensive philosophy and QB micro management.

Yeah, I agree. Utah seems to be one of the only teams that consistently does this to their quarterbacks. Maybe this is Utah fan bias, and you can’t argue with success, but other teams allow their new/replacement quarterbacks to actually throw the ball.

I agree with this against USU.

I understand that yesterday he came in with a 23 point lead and Whitt knew if he threw some picks the game would change quickly. Whitt just wanted to get out of the game with a win. He wasn’t interested in style points. But, next week we need to prove that the offense can move the ball.

But – I think Cam plays.

I don’t want Cam playing against USU. they have a knack for hurting in state team QB’s – see glass shoulder Wynn and multiple byu qbs

      With Rising:

      45-6.

      Without Rising:

      35-10.

USU sucks. Wilson is good, not nearly as bad as everyone is whining about.

Look at Rising and Huntley’s first games at Utah:

Rising threw the ball around 30 times and ran 5-6 times per game.
Huntley threw the ball 30-35 times and ran the ball 15-19 times per game.

Wilson will be right in there. I’d bet around 25-35 throws (maybe more because it’s Utah State and they suck and we need reps for Wilson) and I’d bet around 10 runs. Not as many as Huntley, but Wilson is more of a runner than Rising is.

      Utah: 35
      USU: 14

      Wilson’s stats 12-20 140 yards 1td 1int
      Bernard 15 105 2td
      Stanley 12 90 1td

A defensive score for good measure

and immediately after the game every Utah WR enters the transfer portal.

USU isn’t scoring, we’ll, maybe a field goal. Max 3 points for USU regardless of who plays QB.

Yeah Utah coaches know in great detail everything that Barnes is good and bad at. He’s gonna be hard pressed to get anywhere with Utah’s D. Honestly, could be another shutout if he plays.
