  I had thought Arizona might be a let-down, a possible trap. Not now, Oklahoma State’s late comeback bid was a blessing, even as Utah played prevent. Utah’s defense will remain focused.
  
  Payback… more likely. That late touchdown, with the game no longer in question. Fisch left Utah and fans feeling disrespected. All righty then, see you in 2024.
  
  I expect Coach Whittingham will not coach his team with revenge, in mind, but won’t coach against it either. He will let the team captains carry any payback message into Saturday’s game. However, if Utah is ahead big, Whittingham will grind it out, rather than run up the score.

  I don’t think it is a trap game because we have a bye followed by ASU. If we were playing BYU next week – it could be a trap game.

  Great post Tarheelute. Normally I could see this being a trap game after the OSU battle in the heat and a bye coming up. Thanks to “in your face” bomb at the end of a blow out game it won’t be an issue.
  
  Whitt dismissed it but his body language told a different story. It got me a little pumped up. Every coach and player that played in that game ( we were pretty beaten up going in to that game) felt it. They took advantage like any other team would. A little too much for a program that has earned respect. Night game at RES look out. I see a bad moon Rising.

  Unfortunately Fisch is not there to get his payback. He’s the one that’s owed. Still running it up in this case is more justified than usual due to last year.

    It was not just the coach. The players were just as guilty. Maybe Whitt vs Fisch but it was much more than that. Ask any player. It reminded me of the BYU games in the 70’s when they would taunt our team and fans. My blood would boil back then.

        They had already beaten us down. They dominated us all game. No reason to taunt and rub it in. Big win for them and their program leave it at that.

  OSU’s late rally is the best case scenario for the team. They learned the price of dicking around without having to pay for it in on the record. So many years as the year wears on you get a glimpse of the overall headspace of the team and I’ve definitely seen it affect the season both positively and negatively.

  I wouldn’t say “trap” game, but I would’ve been worried about a “let down” game for 2 main reasons. The obvious is coming off a highly anticipated and emotional road game, adding the hot weather as a factor from a physical exhaustion standpoint.
  
  Then Arizona is coming off a bye week, plenty of rest and prep time.
  
  But as stated, it helps how the game played out. It wasn’t an emotionally exhausting game, and with the late scores, it gives the coaches and players something harp on.
  
  Then, add the dark mode and revenge factor. I think everyone should be hyped up. And the bye week for the Utes after this game should also mentally help them, knowing they get a rest after the game.
