      from Charlie Brown

This “Cam” gametime decision BS is getting old.

I don’t think it’s BS though. It’s the same evaluation process as before the Oklahoma State game. He’ll throw the ball pregame, and his ability to deliver spin and velocity on the ball will determine whether he’ll play. We are all just exhausted from it and so understandably kinda bitter. But that doesn’t take away from the reality of the situation.

I don’t believe for one second that Cam not playing last week was a game time decision.

The truly frustrating part is Whit still thinks he’s fooling people with.

Arizona hasn’t prepared for two QBs. The O hasn’t changed depending on Wilson or Rising.

Reports during the week that Wilson was getting QB1 reps during practice.

Whit thinks he’s playing some sort of gamesmanship with AZ.

      It’s ridiculous.

Everyone knows Wilson will start and that Rising is out til at least ASU.

Whitt has repeatedly said he isn’t going to do things that don’t HELP his team. Does it help his team to tell the world whether Cam is going to start? No it doesn’t, so he won’t do it.

His standard for doing things isn’t, “Will it bother the fans?” or even “Is it a net neutral?” In order for him to consider doing something, there needs to be evidence that it will help his team win football games.

The fans/media are not his concern. His concern is the success of his football team on the field.

Do you really think this QB dance is in anyway “helping” the team.

He’s not fooling anyone especially the opponent.

I know he doesn’t care about the fans and the media and he absolutely shouldn’t either.

All I said was the idea he thinks he’s fooling anyone including the opponent or media or fans is ridiculous.

Pre internet pre social media that kind of cat and mouse game might have worked but not today. To many inside sources reporting to hide anything anymore.

I don’t care who the QB is! LFG!!! If it’s my buddy Wilson, then LET’S GO KID!

Sorry, no…you don’t “pull the ball” from one of the best QBs in Utah history just because a small subset of fans are too emotionally invested in a game.

The “Ball” being pulled IS Cam. He’s saying that the whole situation is like the Charlie Brown skit. Ute fans get their hopes up that Cam will play and then at the last second he’s out. Just like the ball being pulled before Charlie can kick it.

My point is, stop getting your hopes up about a game played by kids, and all of a sudden, whoever is playing QB won’t be so personally devastating.

I agree Tony it’s game day! Let’s get a win reguardless who plays. This team will be behind either qb which wasn’t the case last year against Arizona. The Ok st game last week showed Wilson can win a big game.

I honestly don’t think Whitt is trying to game AZ. I think he’s waiting until game day to see how Cam looks and then making a decision.

I hate this take because if true it means Rising hasn’t been ready to practice at game level the entire week. So even if his availability is 100% at game time it means he’s not been practicing at that level, and it’s going to hurt his game. I guess the decision then comes down to an unpracticed Cam at 80% health vs a healthy Wilson with whatever practice he gets with Rising still around. Sure wish our starter could be fully prepared by getting all the reps during the week. That’s my complaint about the present coaching strategy (if we can believe what we’re being told).

Is so take a 80% Cam who didn’t practice during the week. He knows the offense and is fully capable of stepping in without practice

The notion that Cam’s injuries are BS is funny. Was Cam’s complete knee destruction BS? Who has gone through such a reconstruction and recovery who thinks it was not a big deal? Who has fingers that are impervious to blunt trauma? Who has skin that is impervious to laceration?

You guys act like this is a Marvel movie where ridiculous characters get tossed around and beat up only to heal in 2 minutes.

The Stillwater game was tabbed by virtually everyone as the toughest game of the season, and the game that Utah would most likely lose. Whitt made a call about who he thought would give the team the best chance to win @ Ok St. and, as I remember, the team won.

The coaches feel appear to feel that they have a viable QB2 that gives the team a chance to win while getting the QB2 experience. I have watched my fellow Ute fans complain bitterly about not having QB depth for years- literally years of suggesting that our coaches should be fired because they can’t recruit QB depth. Now they play the QB2, start 4-0, and the same fans complain bitterly that it is all BS. BS!!

      It is really funny.

There’s a huge difference between his tore up knee, which I don’t think anyone doubted, and a cut on the finger. I know it was a serious cut, but it’s not unreasonable for fans to question when we get nothing from the program on updates.

That’s the problem with hiding injuries. We don’t know how bad it really is. Cam says he’s ready and when game time comes he’s not. Cam will know if he can throw. He needs to decide.

Goodness. Would we really want to stack guess on top of guess, week after week rather than trust the coaches? I trust the coaches to ride with the situation open if there is a good chance for change. I trust the coaches to manage practice well while they prepare for Saturday. I feel the coaches can measure the value of rest vs the value of a return to the field. Whitt has a great deal of experience preparing a defense and understands the impact of preparing for two QBs. The coaches are working with all the information coming from practice and simply keep their options open as long as possible. I am ok going to the game without the game plan and without an update on each players health. But honestly, I think I take this approach to remain in a happy place and maximize the entertainment value.
