#1,4,9,10,11,22 (and possibly 8 if Miami loses) all lost to unranked (TAM was 25) teams. AP poll is going to be weird. Utah doesn’t deserve to be in the top 25 at this point but we might actually move up.

Once again I post the idea… where would we be if we won last week? Rats.

But if we won, and Rising still isn’t confirmed back, do we really deserve to be in the top 8? I’m not so sure.

Utah is a Top 6 team if it had beaten Zona last week.

The program of Utah football has in the past, and could again in the future, exist without Cam Rising.

We go from #10 and 4-0 (we had a very s**tty loss but this week shows every team and conference has them in a season) to now not deserving to be in the top 25? GTFOH I’ve never seen our fanbase like this, since Arizona. Embarrassing.

Yeah, and if we can turn things around from last week, we have a road ahead that now has a lot of opportunity. BYU may still be ranked by the time we play them, Iowa St is stringing together wins, too. With all the cannibalism across conferences, IF (and it’s a big if) we were to get to 11-1, our schedule probably ends up looking a little better than expected, and we would likely have a chance to make the playoff even with a CCG loss (but hopefully, if we get there, we just win to take the drama out of it). There is plenty ahead of us if we can get things rolling. Hoping it works out for us.

I think what makes so many people upset about Arizona is the fact that it was a winnable game and it felt like we gave it away in a sense. When you watch your team just make mistake after mistake in a game they should’ve won it’s hard for people to be optimistic, but nonetheless everything we want to achieve is out on the table so let’s go get it! Go Utes!

There is ZERO indication that we are a good team.

        Our wins are:

        2-4 Southern Utah

        2-4 Baylor

        1-4 Utah State

3-3 Oklahoma State that has lost 3 straight games, 2 of which have been blowouts.

Our loss is against an Arizona team that is currently down 18-3 against Texas Tech.

Of course Utah belongs in the top 25! A let down loss after a tough road game facing an opponent who had a bye! Guys, we were never going to go undefeated! Never! How many of us in preseason looked at the OK State and Arizona and thought going 1-1 in those games would put us in great position to win the BIG12? I know after we won in Stillwater we all thought it was an easy ride to the CCG but it was never going to be, there are no Goliaths in this conference but there are a lot of Achilles and Hector’s, maybe it’s time to show a little respect to our new conference.

All of our preseason hopes are still on the table, especially after today and Whitt, Scalley and Ludwig will have the gius ready to go Friday night.

Very few teams across the country go undefeated. We very well may look back and be grateful Utah lost in September.🤞

Mostly this is a reflection of how hard (worthless) it is to try and rank teams starting in week 1. You need 6-8 games to really start to see the picture.

Sorry to be the Debbie downer, but don’t think Utah should be ranked! If so, #25 at best. Unless the team is p**sed off for dropping one at home to Arizona and looking to fight back and get their MOJOs back, I doubt they’ll be ready to play and win against ASU. Rising no doubt is the team general, the team leader and the team looks like a top 10 team when he’s in, but if he’s not playing its 50/50 win or lose. I’ve seen this so many times before, Utah is favored to win and then they blow it! They have no fight, passion or gusto about them, but they just go out lethargic, going through the motions as if it’s the other team who wants it more. IMO, that’s been a K Whitt team MO when they lose and when that happens, their body language tells me they lack confidence and don’t believe they can win again. I really believe the hype surrounding Utah’s move to the Big 12 and leading into the pre-season that Utah is going to dominate the Big12 and be favored to win the title I think got the best of the fanbase and the team, and p**sed off other schools in the conference. I think all that has a lot to do with where the conference is now, the teams that were favored to dominate as we are near the mid season mark look average at best (Utah, OSU, KSU, and Kansas). Surprise teams: BYU, Colorado, ISU, Texas Tech, and WVU.

Unless we see significant improvement from the team without Rising, Utah will lose against ASU. Our wins are not looking so good right now and Arizona loss to Texas Tech tonight. That tells me half way in the season, Utah isn’t looking like the Big-12 favorite! Kyle Whitt’s team can lose to any of the undefeated Big12 teams right now and probably be 4-8 or 5-7 if they play like they did against Arizona. Right now the top Big12 teams are shockingly not Utah, OSU, or KSU, but Texas Tech, BYU, ISU, Colorado, and WVU.

ISU Might sustain success but them, BYU, and Colorado are all in serious danger because they have little depth generally or in key position groups that will make late season game difficult. Teams with little depth have already played their best football.

I didn’t watch the whole game but Cal was a lot of fun to watch early. The take this morning seems to be that it was basically a fix for Miami.

There was a horrendously missed targeting call that changed the outcome.

Apparently the game winning play also featured two ineligible receivers downfield.
