WOW! This could be a wilson 2.0 on steroids. 4* QB Oscar Rios just named Utah in his top 5. Lets get him, pure pocket passer with running ability.

Can’t have too many good QB’s, as we have learned.

I don’t keep track of recruiting so I’m not even going to double check this but I think you might’ve jinxed us by predicting it, Cali. Your record is impressive in a reverse sort of way

Son don’t pollute my feed. You’re a 2nd rate troll but I respect your longevity. I might do the same on CB someday.

The recruiting process doesn’t really interest me any longer. Until they sign their LOI, I just can’t get too hyped about it regardless of the recruit. Especially with what’s essentially free agency in college football via the transfer portal.

So then why are the top contenders still concentrating and succeeding in pulling in great recruiting classes? This just seems like cope because we don’t have a strong class this year.

@Philly, I think you need to re-read my comment. I never said it wasn’t important. I said it doesn’t interest me any longer because college football has changed so much. There are so many commit and then de-commits followed by transfers in this new era that I just can’t get excited when I hear somebody lists us in their top 5.

        LOI doesn’t matter anymore either

We went down and played Downey this year, Rios is a stud. Made some incredible throws against us, and can take off in the run too. Kid is solid

Same mechanical flaw as Wilson so he will be a turnover machine also, if anyone let’s him in a game

Just curious what flaw that is because I’m not a QB expert. Unless you’re talking about Travis Wilson, then I know what mechanical flaw you’re talking about.

Release point is about a foot too low. When Wilson (Isaac) is under stress, he reverts to the same thing which is why you see his ball miss either high or short. When you don’t get your elbow at least as high as your shoulder, and your hand around the top of your helmet, you are forced to throw upward which reduces velocity and accuracy.

Here’s the gold standard for QB throwing mechanics:

          And here’s Rios’s HUDL:

Release point is something that can be fixed but it takes a lot of dedicated training. Just like a pro golfer takes ~ 1 1/2 years to affect a swing change, breaking down your throwing mechanics and rebuilding them is very time intensive (and probably expensive).
