Just Take It One Week At A Time. Our problem is we assumed we were going to walk through the conference. Utah, historically, has always played better as an underdog. If Whit and the program (This includes coaches and players) they circle the wagons and get back to just playing ball. The talent is there. The fire is gone. Maybe this is the week its back. But. Anything can happen. No more projections. Just win and the rest will take care of itself the way the schedule finishes out.

For this week its TCU. Who can score but doesn’t believe in defense. We have a good chance. Def a 50/50 game. If we caome out with pride and a nest man up mentality regardless of who plays we have a good chance.

is it that they have played better as an underdog? or are always just an underdog?
this notion seems like a fallacy.

It is a fallacy. If you are the underdog, you are expected to lose so you can only get positive outcomes. You either did as expected or you outperform. When you are the favorite you can only get negative outcomes. People want positive so they put mythic qualities on David beating Goliath. When maybe the real answer is that Goliath was just a big dumb galoot who couldn’t fight his way out of a paper bag and David was actually Bruce Lee.

The same fallacy exists when people talk about coaches not being able to win the big games. Because apparently big games are only the ones you lose. The games you win weren’t big games because you did what you were expected to do.

It’s a fallacy. Before this year, Utah has played really well as the favorite.

Expecting us to do well is realistic. Anyone that expected us to “walk through the conference” is a neanderthal and I don’t know why we should waste time taking that opinion seriously.

Whether the team does well from here or not is less a scheme or personnel issue than it is a team environment issue. The team will play with fire when they feel valued and that their own values align with those of the team.

As long as a certain player is being treated as royalty we have no possibility of success.

Amen! I been say this very thing since the win at Ok St and got told to shut up and your a Debbie Downer and must be a closet BYU fan. Now that we are 4-2 and look like an average football team at best, where are my naysayers at?!

Hope the team can re-group, have a come to Jesus meeting and trust each other and have each others back, and anything thing is possible! Hope they can put the past two weeks behind them, get behind Isaac Wilson and play the best football they can for themselves and each other. Go UTES!
