Been thinking a lot about turnovers. How Whit pounds into the team the concept of ball security and not turning the ball over. His reasoning is correct on every level. And we all know the reasons. Field position; game momentum; psychological affects on your team; changing the completion of the game; etc.

But what about a different type of turnover…THE TURNOVER ON DOWNS. This is a coach’s turnover. Sure, the team didn’t get a first down or touchdown. Happens. But the coach called for THE GAMBLE. He should ultimately be held accountable for and assessed the turnover if it fails. And for the record, failure carries the same devastating effects as that of a fumble or interception.

By this reasoning, it could be said that Whit has the highest number of turnovers on the team. Sure, it’s a bit of a an argument to be made. But I believe it’s a legitimate case. Why should Whit get a pass when he places such importance on No Turnovers on everyone else. Poor coaching decisions is a large reason this team is off to a poor start in Big 12 play! “No question about it.”

It’s the analytics… Anyway, I don’t think Whitt gets a pass. He himself said he’s to blame for the last two losses.

Was gonna say the same thing. We’ve lost the turnover battle in almost every game minus USU and Baylor which definitely makes it difficult to win.
