  I saw Kaumatule was in at right guard. Sorry if I’m late to the party but what happened to Moko? Does anyone know the injury.

    Could be. His pass blocking has been almost non existent. Maybe he has a nagging injury causing poor play.

      I saw a thing that showed his PFF grade as a 3.7 (not a typo, three point seven)

        He only played 7 snaps and still scored a 3.7 in pass blocking. Insane. Only 44.9 in run blocking.

        People like downvoting me for being harsh, but it’s just the truth. Our interior O-line is definitely the weak point. That play where a TCU defender just split our Interior O-line like a knife through butter, and was in the backfield when the ball was being handed off, was absolutely pathetic.

  Whatever resurgence the offense is going to have for the second half of the season will need to start with the O-line. I hope they are up to the task, because if not, this offense is going nowhere.

  Moko has been very disappointing so far this season. He was replaced by Moeia who was just as bad. Falcon was the 3rd RG of the game and performed pretty well.

    I just worry about having a 6’8” guard to block our ~5’10” QB’s vision…
    
    But that’s better than having to run for your life every play, so if he can block, play the man…

      How does an interior lineman have that bad of pass blocking? Unless he’s injured, just don’t let anyone come flying straight up the middle. You’re an athletic 300+ pound beast. How is that happening?

        Easy. When that player misses an assignment. Seen it many times this year. Player blocks left when he should have blocked right, or doubles a defender and leaves his man or the LB an open lane.

        Don’t overlook that Kump is the one calling the protections. If he’s not identifying the right things, it could look like a blocker went for the wrong man when he in fact followed the call on the field.
        
        TCU also did a good job of having their stunt or blitz person wait long enough for the Utah blocker to commit elsewhere before crashing the hole.
