I actually liked what I (little) we saw from Rose. I was manning the BBQ in the 4th quarter, so id like some other insight.

Well, his average completion length was 3 yards, he repeatedly threw into coverage, and he had the game deciding interception. So basically a model Utah quarterback if you ask me.
-
The Miami UteParticipant
Yeah, I was about to say that he could have been a hero but ended up a zero. His interception led directly to Utah’s loss.
-
jshame17Participant
Yeah, but Becker still being allowed in the locker room is equally perplexing decision
-
EagleMountainUteParticipant
Why were we passing on that down??? It was four down territory. Rush the ball. The play calling seemed like you were not in a tie game.
-
The Miami UteParticipant
Eagle, I have no idea. I was also puzzled as to why the defense didn’t dare Houston to beat them through the air once they got the ball back. The Cougars ran eight plays, all runs, before they kicked the game-winning FG.

I thinks we should give Rose a chance in practice to beat out Wilson. He has probably already been given the opportunity but got beat out, unless there is some external pressure to play Wilson. I would actually like to see him play a full half just to see how the team responds to him. It really can’t get any worse.

Based on the fact that the first time Lud isn’t calling plays, we see Rose, King, McClain, Glover, and other MiA players, tells me that politics and favorites have ruled the day.
And that’s why players are p**sed and the coaches have lost the locker room.

He passed the eye test, looked confident, moved well. Unfortunately it didn’t result in much though. I want to see what Huard has
-
highlandute7Participant
I thought Rose looked confident and that he had control of the offense but what can you expect from him when that was his first live game action since he has been at Utah.
Take it for what its worth but I have heard that Huard is killing it in practice as scout team qb but doesn’t sound like the coaches even are considering him to play, which is unfortunate.

The Utah coaching staff making puzzling quarterback decisions? No way!!!!! 😝

I’m the furthest thing from a football expert, but everything about Rose looked bigger/stronger/faster. That’s obviously only a small part of the equation, but his passes had more zip and he didn’t look physically overmatched by everyone around him.
Maybe both of those guys leave, but I’d bet there is a more seasoned qb to be had in the off-season that would come to be the guaranteed starter…or at least a guaranteed open qb competition.

I thought Rose’s decisions looked quicker. I liked his throwing action. So few live reps he’s bound to make some mistakes, but technically he looked good.
