  IF rumors are true about team fights, lack of support for the named starters, people picking sides….
  
  Then Whit needs to bench anyone and everyone who is adding to this chaos. Seriously. You don’t want to play with someone? Problem solved. You don’t like the way the O leaves you hanging? No worries. You don’t feel the need to hustle? I won’t even make you stand up.
  
  Anyone choosing not to participate after their first benching. Scholarship gets pulled.

  I agree with you whole heartedly.
  Look what it has gotten us, losses to Zona, Zona St, TCU and Houston….newsflash they are all not good football teams. Which means we aint close to being good. Hurts a lot to get the carpet pulled out on us.
  My feelings are bench all seniors that don’t have a shot at the next level (not many) and play all the young guys to see what they have. Turn the train wreck into an extended training camp.
  Looking at our schedule I do not see another win. Only win that can save the season is beating the TDS Jackwagons which I would not beat on happening. If you are 40+ year old Ute Fans you know what these type of seasons look like and what I am talking about. The 80’s and most of the 90’s were miserable comparatively speaking to 2003 and on.

    It was mostly the mid-70s through the 80s. We were 5-5 against those douches in the 1990 thanks to McBride!

  I still have nightmares from the 70s-80s losses. Let’s make it 10 of the last 11 for us instead of 2 of the last eleven for them.

  I was around for the late 70s and all of the 80s. Tough years but those teams were picked nowhere near the top of the WAC in pre-season predictions. Given they were predicted to win the Big12 and make the playoffs, the collapse of this team is rather a disappointment. But I’ll still be cheering for them. As always a Utah man sir and will be ’til I die.

    Back in those days, watching football was for mainly socializing and not so much to live-or-die over whether the U was flashing afterward. Utah was primarily known for basketball.

  I can guarantee none of that is true there is literally zero division in the locker room anyone that claims otherwise has no idea what they’re talking about.. There may be a player or two bitching about playing time but there’s a reason they’re not playing..

      Yeah, there has to be some discontentment from the defense, who is holding teams to scores that should be leading to blowouts, towards the offense can’t get past 14 points.
      
      Competitors will always be frustrated when one entire half of the team, is not doing their jobs, for over a month.

      Happens at the pro level all the time. A slow leak of discontentment at first but then as the losses and lack of targets, production etc add up, it turns into a full blown sinking ship.

        The more teams are composed of merc transfers and kids who see play time linked to NIL $ the more this will be true for us and every other team. This is already upon us and is only going to get worse. I don’t see many teams maintaining identity and chemistry for more than rare random years going forward. Not just a Ute issue but because we were very identity heavy it may hit us harder than some.
