For both sides.
for TSPP fans: You won. Nothing is changing that fact. That is the only thing that matters. Scoreboard is the only smack that means anything. Anything beyond that is fluff.
For Ute fans: We lost. It’s over. Even if it was an obviously wrong call (it wasn’t) nothing can be done to change the result of the game. We could have won, and we didn’t. The end. Time to move on.
This s**t reminds me of my 4 year old whining to me about how it isn’t fair that the older kids get to go to bed later, while the older kids whine to me about how it isn’t fair that the younger kids don’t do as many chores.

It would have been over on Saturday night but for TDS fans like Ted Lasso and Matt parachuting in here every couple of hours to continually stir the pot. Personally, I’ve never been to or posted on a BYU board but they feel it’s OK to come to hostile territory and start arguments. Simple as that…Many people here have been telling them continually “take the win and move on” but no, they come back time after time to argue their points.

I’ve never once started a thread about the call. I’ve only responded to Utah fans. And I’ve been on Ute Hub for 3+ years even when you guys were at your most successful. I feel like I’ve earned my right to comment on things that I disagree with. And plus I don’t hate Utah. I root for them whenever they’re not playing BYU.
And you might wonder why I’m not on Cougarboard, and that’s because I just don’t like posting over there. Frankly I feel like they’re kind of assholes on CB and you can’t post about anything that goes against public opinion or else they ridicule you.
Tony has done a good job on this board of keeping civility but also allowing diverse opinions. Debating is all in good fun and I’m not trying to p**s people off.

OK Ted…my apologies…you’re a stand-up guy.
-
Ted LassoParticipant
My apologies too. I’ve overdone it debating the call. I’ll knock it off now. Appreciate you guys letting me come on your board for good discussion.

This is a message board brotha and it’s fun to debate about it. That’s what message boards are for. The penalty is just another one of those things in the rivalry that is fun to talk about. If you don’t want to debate it, simply don’t comment on it. But it’s not childish behavior, it’s just a message board.

A lot of childishly stupid behavior is fun.

I’ve said several times now… More discussion should be had about the fact that Utah didn’t score in the 2nd half and less about the calls. Had the Utes even scored a weeny little field goal at any point in the 2nd half that may have been enough to win the game.

The Miami UteParticipant
A FG? Utah has a golden chance to return the failed 2 PT conversion for two points. That probably would have been enough to win it.

Lasso you’ve made your point. You’re a great guy and poster. I’ve enjoyed the civility you and McMahon have brought from the other side. I hope you continue to contribute in the future.
It’s been a tough year. Emotions are boiling over and Ute fans are upset over unrealized expectations and bad losses.
Time to back off and let us heal. If I made posts like you do here on cougarboard I would get crushed. I apologize for all Ute fans behavior but we love our team and want them to succeed to a fault.

Most childish thing is bitching about conversations had among fans on a board. It’s like your analogy of kids whining about bed time. So you engage in this whining saying well bed time is what you need and here are the reasons why.
Nope just ignore it and put it to bed by ignoring it.

chinngiskhaanParticipant
hahahaha. You got me there. I meant to put something to that effect in my post but forgot.
