Devin Brown from Ohio State? Former CC QB, girlfriend in Utah, I think two years remaining. Admittedly I don’t know everything about the depth of our QB room, or have a read on what backups around the country should be starting elsewhere next year but I gotta believe there’s some potential here, no?
If he comes here, doesn’t that mean that Isaac is gone? Do we still view Isaac as the QB of the future or has his stock fallen so low that it doesn’t really matter whether he stays or goes?
Those are my questions too and I suppose I posed the original question with the assumption that he is gone. Probably way too early to make that call. Nor fair for that matter. Just curious because someone of his caliber could lead to other additions like WR, TE. As has been mentioned recently, we could see a mass exodus from our program from key positions. Someone like DB could potentially minimize that damage?
I think some of us might be assuming he’s going to transfer. Obviously only 1 person really knows what he will do and he might not even. But given comments from this site earlier in the year it’s not an understandable assumption (if those comments were true, again no way to know)
Honestly I’m fully confident we can get a running back or two. I remember feeling hopeless about our RB room after Ty Jordan passed away but 2021 ended up being a good year for transfer RBs for us (Tavion, Pledger, Curry). we just need to be aggressive about going after them.
Is there a qb that can stay upright a full season? Maybe another running back? After this year it feels like the bar is pretty low for what Utah needs.
That would be absolutely unreal…I’m about to call Rising “Quarterback for Life”, like tinpot dictators in Africa like to call themselves “President for Life.”
