how much life was injected into the fan base when Urban Meyer was hired?
Young, up and coming coach that we didn’t know much about. Chris Hill felt like the program was “stagnating”.
UM took McBride players, added a few more and turned them into BCS busters in 2 years.

We have a talented roster. Need a few new players on offense obviously but the infrastructure is there for us to succeed quickly.

Oh how I wish we could inject some similar optimism into the program like in 2003. We need something.

I actually don’t think the offense is that far from having all the pieces it needs. Need some return to health at QB and figure out the IOL but the skill players should be solid. Just need a scheme that maximizes their talents and better execution.

💯 we are close. it’s why I don’t care about the name of the OC. Just the right guy. And for the fans to know what the direction is currently.

I remember being frustrated with the offensive output in the last few seasons of McBride’s tenure. I can’t help but think that the last two years post Rising is feeling a lot like the last few years of McBride. A team with a lot of talent and potential that can’t seem to put it together on a consistent basis on offense.

It seems like a new OC hire and philosophy needs to be the right one right now. If not, the program could easily go the way of OSU real quickly. Considering the number of home games we lost this year, we are not that far away from the wheels coming completely off.

Of course things could also go the opposite way and we could be sitting on top of the conference next year, but given the OC carousel under Whittingham’s head coaching career, I wouldn’t count on it at this point. I think the problem with the Lud offensive system was correctly identified, but I don’t trust Whittingham to make the correct choices to fix it.
