“Some of y’all need to chill with the blame slinging. It’s chaos right now, but trust that it’ll get figured out. Utah’s program has been stable for a long-time. When you’ve got titles of Head Coach & also Head-Coaching-In-Waiting, it’s not as easy as it sounds, including with ADs”

I’m sure he’s getting a lot of trash in his replies on X but he needs to be aware that Utah is now on a higher tier of program. Not saying they’re a blue blood or anything but the program and the university have more eyes on them than ever and expectations are higher than they have been. Fans are not going to just twiddle their thumbs until next fall and “trust that it’ll get figured out”.
Fans are reactionary and emotional by definition. It’s not unreasonable for fans to be upset at the lack of information. The team had an offense that was ranked lower than a school like UMASS last year, has had 2+ months to target and lock in their selection for OC, and we’ve now seen them get stiffed by their top 2 selections. That is justifiably cause for concern. The future of this team’s success depends largely on if they can reload and come back with a competent offense next year. They’ve done nothing to address that concern. NSD has already happened and the portal is opening in the next few days. There needs to be some urgency.

With all due respect to Mr. Markham you don’t spend 9 months setting expectations, follow that up with 3 months of failing to meet those expectations, watch others who fell short of their own expectations make decisive moves, and then tell your fan base to keep quiet and trust that it will all be fine.

That maybe true, BUT it didn’t take OU and TT to long at all to lock down their OCs. Their serious and want results and will make it happen! It’s like Whitt has all the time in the world to figure it out while top notch OC prospects getting taken by other programs because you failed to respond accordingly or plain and simple F’d it up like they did the season. It’s like saying, 2024 election is over, was over a month ago, BUT we are still counting votes…
Like my father use to tell me, “Son, time waits for no one.” You snooze, you lose!

TT lost their OC on 12/2/24 and have a replacement by 12/5/24. This old school mentality from Whitt and Harlan are a joke. I don’t want to suffer as a fan because of their incompetence, but it looks like that is a real possibility.

Whitt has lost a lot of credibility the past two seasons.
Harlan hasn’t earned credibility.
Trust the process and the people? Yeah, forgive me if I have some trust issues.

It’s a Game time decision

Stable? That’s not the word I’d use to describe the past two seasons at Utah. It’s also hard to “trust” when we’ve basically been lied too about the state of our QB room the past 2 years. What a cluster.

This tweet makes it sound like there is some conflict right now between Scalley and Whitt. And honestly, after a season like this, there should be some conflict.

Yeah, loyalty is a 2 way street and we all know Scalley has left a LOT of money on the table to stay at Utah based on numerous promises. Not to mention the comments around the direction of the offense being a mutual decision.
If that is not being honored or rewarded, things could get interesting. 🤔

Why should I trust anything from the football program?
Whitt said in 2023 – Rising would play soon. He never played.
Whitt said in 2024 Rising’s injury was minor. Well …
Whitt said he would retire before he was 63. He is now 65.
Whitt said that Scalley would be involved in any coaching decisions. It appears that this is really not the case. IMO, even if Whitt stays – Scalley (the future coach) should have the final say on a new OC.
So, remind me Mr Markhan, why should I trust anything from our football program.
