With the transfer portal fast becoming the path for building competitive teams, the need for stripped down and streamlined offenses (and probably defenses, but we hear more about the offenses) that allow transfers to learn it quickly and execute has become more important. Are outgoing QB’s and other offensive talent going to be heading into the NFL at a greater disadvantage having not gotten the opportunity to learn more pro-style concepts in college? Will rookies have a more difficult time acclimating due to unfamiliar complexity? Will we see a higher percentage of bust prospects that fizzle out (like Zach Wilson) because they could handle simplified offensive schemes, but can’t handle more complex ones?
