Here comes the rumors/speculations on Wilson entering the portal…not surprising.
The drama of this week will continue big time next week when the portal officially opens on Monday.

I think it was inevitable.

If I were Beck first thing I’d be doing is trying to convince him to stay. I know many are down on him but I think his ceiling is highest from what else is on the roster or who we could feasibly get in the portal.

I mean the amount of blame fans threw his way despite him being a true freshman. The rumors of the locker room troubles and not getting along with the team. It’s not surprising.

The game of college football doesn’t give extra credit and there’s no handicap system. It doesn’t matter whether you are an 18 year old freshman or a 25 year old 7th year senior, when you step on the field you have to produce. It’s the ultimate Darwinian process and Wilson didn’t pass the test. Any blame or credit Wilson got was earned by his performance.
Changing schools may get him a couple extra bucks in his pocket but the road is only going to be harder for him going forward, whether at Utah or another school. In MLB, when you first come up they’ll challenge you with fastballs and you have to prove you can hit those before they bother trying to get you out with the really nasty stuff. Wilson got the CFB equivalent of fastballs down the pipe this year and couldn’t handle it. The market and opportunities for him aren’t going to be as big as he thinks and truly his best chance to get where he wants to go is probably right where he’s at.

Yeah, disagree.
College was great because it was a chance to watch kids grow and improve, chase dreams and catch those special seasons. Communities were united in regional rivalries where you could take jabs at co-workers or neighbors, all while appreciating the effort of the players improving their lives by entertaining us 12 times a year.
I agree with your statement if this was the NFL. You a professional now, perform, but that is not what college and college sports should ever be.
Conference realignment, Transfer portal, NIL has killed college sports and what made them special.
Not to mention the physical changes between 18 and 25 is staggering, so you are cheapening the experience and grossly misusing “Darwinism” with your statement, that an 18 year old is the same as a 25 year old that has been training for the pressure of the moment for 5+ years.
I’d love to see you be judged at your job after 1 year, the same as after 5 years.
Complete nonsense of an argument.

I heard from a pretty good source that the game Wilson was benched for Rose Whitt and his parents got in a shouting match after the game. Who knows if it’s true but with how crazy and over bearing his parents are I don’t question it. Also by transferring now he can still ride the hype of being a high 4 star recruit. He comes back and sits on the bench all year he may not have as many looks. I would love to have him back and I hope he stays.

I’ll take the GTFO side.
He’s too small, too slow, and too dimwitted to process the game.
If it was having 0..1 game I’d be willing to give him a chance but how many full game with full weeks of prep did we go where he just sucked.

These portal dates are a technicality now. There’s some QBs currently whose camps have shopped them since midseason…
-
2008 National ChampParticipant
Surely you aren’t suggesting that the 5 minutes between officially entering the portal and committing to their new school is not enough time for kids to field recruiting calls and figure out their next destination?

Oh the huge manatee!

Isn’t that exactly what Alex Markham said on X?

Well, bye. If true, wish him the best, but I’m done with the program being held hostage by one player. This is year to year now thanks to lawless NIL, let’s figure out the best QB for 2025 with the idea that they might be gone for 2026 and just plan to deal with that after the 2025 season. Can’t plan on players being around multiple seasons anymore.

Unfortunately, this is the reality. It’s hard for us as fans to retain our loyalty because of player fluidity.

Mike has been shopping him since midseason. The claim is they think Isaac will get a $1 mill NIL deal from an SEC school 🤣🤣🤣
-
homerParticipant
He hasn’t shown the ability to see the field, make progressive reads, make timely, accurate passes. He holds the ball waaaay too long.
He has much to improve upon before he can be a successful starting QB at a 2nd tier conference like the big1.2, let alone a P2.

Barf.

Who cares. Dude wanted all the smoke and then p**sed all over himself all year.

If Barrari or Rose would have played we would have gone 8-4 or 9-3
-
ladyinredParticipant
I really hope Rose stays. I want to see more of him after the tds game.

RoboUteParticipant
If only every other problem fixed itself too.

MG_UteParticipant
I was sort of hoping he would transfer. Both Bottari and Rose played better than Isaac did. With how many games he played, it never seemed to develop. I think he’s like his brother Zach – good against crappy competition, not so good against better defenses. Not upset about this at all.

Only nice thing I can say about him is sometimes he threw a nice deep ball. Missing a lot of easy/routine throws makes it impossible to call plays while he is in.
