      Yea, this no bueno. Im guessing he’s getting some offers and so begins the highest bidder game. The free market is fully taking hold and Whitt was right–soon the top 25 teams will just reflect the top 25 spending NIL programs…

      As I said in the other thread…he knows our offense will be so good that he’ll never have any opportunities to punt!

      If I am not mistaken wasn’t this dude pretty mid? Not nearly close to the hackett/wishnowksky level but I do think he improved this year

        2023: 45.5 yards per punt (tied #21)
        2024: 44.7 (tied #35)

        of all the dark spots for the last 2 seasons, Bouwmeester wasn’t one of them. If the only acceptable punters are Ray Guy winners, be prepared for a lot of disappointment.

        It’s not an either/or world any more. You’ve got to figure out a way to pay both and Whitt said during the season that he already had his spreadsheets and budgets set. Now we’ll see if Blechen / whitt are as good at Moneyball as Billy Bean was.

          He is probably worn out. That is a lifetime of punts in one season

        He had some bad punts as well. He had a good average though. Special teams was just poorly coached this season. Finding a punter won’t be hard.
