  It has been a tough last 4 months for me, and I assume many of you feel the same. But, it’s just football. I have placed way too much of my happiness in how Utah football goes. I drank the kool-aid. (My mistake. I know better.)
  
  Overall, my life is great, and I will spend the holiday with all but two of my wonderful grandchildren. It doesn’t get any better than that.
  
  I hope all of you can forget football for a few days and enjoy the holidays with your families.

  Merry Christmas. During the same 4 months of my favorite season of the year (football season), a parent was diagnosed with colon cancer, a friend put lymphoma into remission, and my kid made it through the semester without a hospital visit for mental health, a first in the last 5 semesters. Ups and downs, but life is good.

      I lost my dad and my dog this year. And we had to cancel a couple of vacations. It’s been rough. Tomorrow I’m taking my wife and kids to San Diego for a week to bum around and see what we can see. Football comes a distant second to real life. I hope we see some sanity in the free agency process return next year. i’d love to start caring about the team again.

        My dad has been gone for over 40 years. I still think about him often and am grateful for the years we had together. He was a great man in so many ways.

  This is going to sound crazy but it’s true: My wife of 27 years filed for divorce earlier this year due partially to my support of U athletics and my active participation in NIL deals. Absolutely shocked me beyond words. I’ve moved to southern Utah for a new start, but will be a Ute ‘til I die! I’ve looked forward to the discussions on this app every morning and every evening on this new journey. Thank you all! I don’t know many of you in person but I consider all of you honorary or chosen family right now. I hope everyone has wonderful holidays with those they love. Go Utes!

    That’s tough. I must admit that Utah sports has been the biggest rif in my nearly 50 years of marriage. But, it did not come to divorce.
