I’ve had several friends text me this morning asking if Whitt is gone (mostly BYU fans). Is there something I’m missing? I haven’t heard anything of the sort.

Lies and speculation going on amongst the infamous kittyboard. They are just hoping for a Christmas miracle – which involves news from the Hill vs news about Jay Hill (or their own team).

Yeah, the zoobs might have been encouraged by another season-ending injury to Cam Rising, and are believing they’d successfully “wished-it-into-fruition”, and had decided to give it another go by hoping Whittingham elects to step down.

Don’t we want Whitt gone too? Hopefully the rumors are true 🙏🏽.
Truthfully at this point I don’t want him gone, but definitely wish he was before our OC search

The rumor was that the reason we didn’t get the OK OC was Whitt. It’d be a very recently on-brand bit of sabotage to still leave after that. But I’d be sad to see him go.

Roboute: That’s not a BYU rumor, that’s what I’ve heard from die hard Ute fans that are close to the program. While I don’t know anything for certain, based on what I’ve heard, I fully believe it’s true that Whitt’s presence made it more difficult to find a new OC.

.. and this is suppose to be surprising. Biggest surprise to me is we’ve been able to pull in what’s looks to be a quality QB and RB, just need to hold on to key pieces we keep losing
-
RoboUteParticipant
Oh I didn’t mean to indicate that was a cougarboard rumor or whatever. Like you, I heard it from Utah people. And on the “juiciness” scale that particular rumor is pretty low. Of course Whitt’s presence makes OCs wary, the fans aren’t the only ones who can see the pattern, it’s not rocket science. And you know these guys talk. The rumors also say Troy Taylor said what most of us do, by year 3 you’ll be running Whitt’s offense, not yours. Why would an OC want to come to Utah to abandon what made them successful and ruin their brand?

I mean…yes? We know the OC issues are 100% Whitt related.
That being said, it sound like Whitt has picked an OC that actually fits what he wants to do:
Run the QB, run the ball, big strong backs who can wear down the opposing defense and protect his defense.
I think Beck, while not the biggest name, is a great fit for what Whitt wants to do.

This will be his most challenging season. He looks driven to turn things around. I like the offensive mind set. If they can patch the defense back together they should be competitive but not dominate.

the echo chamber is strong down south.

Currently, the echo chamber is alive and well in Salty Lake, too.
