For all the arrogant trash talk that BYU basketball fans dish out to us in this rivalry, you’d think they had won ten in a row against us. Actually, we’ve won 6 of the last 11! 6 OUT OF 11.

This is such a gratifying win. BYU w/ their NBA coach, their “lottery” draft picks, all the NIL from Ryan Smith and co., etc. And according to them, us w/ our unskilled team, low quality coach, empty arena, minimal NIL, etc. …and we beat them a second year in a row.

Player of the game was obviously Ausar. Lovering had a great game too (and I bet it would’ve been even better had he not gotten into foul trouble). Those guys missed their free throws though. The guy who won us the game was the most unlikely hero ever: Hunter Erickson. He was clutch. It will be a long time before I hate on him. He has now permanently earned our love. Hit the huge 3 to tie it up. And then went 3-4 from FT to help us win the game at the end.

Well put. I love beating those pricks. I am sitting in the football stadium parking lot with a big smile on my face.

Utah won the game with the two points on the technical on the first basket of the game and the YBU guy taunted the Utah bench.

BYU basketball really knows how to live up to the standards set by their sponsors. PACS is being investigated for fraud. Apparently, BYU basketball should be too!

Yeah, I’m sure it’ll last him a lifetime. Maybe he can buy a farm in Mali with it…

KY will not be able to keep everyone happy when they’re losing. There will be some disgruntled players wanting more playing time. One and done mentality only works if that player is a superstar. Playing a freshman who makes way more money than the junior and senior players who have been with the program for more than two years can cause locker room problems.

Jim, my view is that unless you already have a solid, veteran team, these “one and done” guys won’t be able to move the needle much. You certainly won’t be able to win the NCAAs if your roster is composed primarily of one and done players. BYU supposedly has two lottery picks and another player with 1st RD grades. Yet, what I saw last night on the court was a pretty mediocre product. Certainly no better than Utah, which has zero NBA talent on its roster. Personally, I think that the big NIL deals should be reserved for the guys that already have two-three proven years of NCAA stardom instead of promises, like Dybantsa. Otherwise, you’re really rolling the dice.
