Personally I wouldn’t dismiss the possibility that a player like him might have been much better under a coach like RM. So I don’t think it’s an absolute truth that he wouldn’t see the court. And I agree that he is much improved from last year. But unfortunately the fact that he is playing a pivotal role in certain victories is an indictment of our guard line. We just flat do not have 1 let alone 2 guards that stand out as the guys that should get the majority of the minutes.
5. Lawson is a given.
3. Personally it’s controversial but I think Jake is a given. He’s #4 in BPM (1 Keanu, 2 Lawson, 3 Mason), he’s #2 in Defensive rating (behind Keanu), he can handle the ball and although his scoring isn’t great but he is averaging over 10pts per 40 min, he can handle the ball and his turnovers per 40min are low. So to me, he’s the best option at small forward.
4. I still think Keanu is a no brainer, but I think I’ve said enough. If you disagree, go read my other posts and take on those arguments (if you can).
1. & 2. I think the nod is to Mike & Gabe in my book, but honestly, it’s a hot mess. Roll the dice with whoever any given night. I think I could make a statistical argument for almost any of them depending on what stats and games you look at.
As for Ezra, I think he is a good player with a lot to contribute. But I just can’t see any sane argument for him getting the majority of the minutes over Keanu or Jake. But I think he is a much better option off the bench for a spart than we had last year.
