NEW POLL: Is firing Coach Smith the right move?

I think so. I hate to say it, and I have no beef with Smith. But his tenure has felt lackluster from the jump. I don’t know why, but the hiring felt anticlimactic, and it just seemed to limp along from there. Even the LK era had it’s fair share of juice and excitement before the wheels came off mid era.

But Smith never really generated any excitement for hope for the future. No exciting recruits. No awe-inspiring transfers (even thought D. Smith became must-see TV). Then getting stripped of Burgess and Keita just felt emasculating. If you told me 25 years ago that BYU would be clowning our basketball program these day’s I’d have thought you were high on meth.

We’ve gotta get our mojo back and I think Jensen with the right staff and our boosters pushing from behind that can happen.

Now let’s go lock up Jensen, steal Chandler from Pope, land a few studs, and make the Big 12 hate us more than they already do!
